The 70 Weeks of Daniel
  • Key to understanding Bible Prophecy
2
What is the 70 Weeks of Daniel

  •      More then 2500 years ago in the land of Babylon a Hebrew prophet named Daniel, a captive from the land of Israel, received a revelation.  The angel Gabriel revealed to Daniel how his nation Israel, his people the Jews, and his holy city Jerusalem would play a central role in God’s plan for all mankind.
  •       They would serve the role of God’s prophetic clock.  Israel, Jerusalem and the Jews would be the focus of world attention as God’s clock moved forward in time.  Daniel foretold the coming of two great rulers who would effect the whole earth. And how a future Jewish Temple would play a central part of this plan.
  •        These events unfold for us in  the book of Daniel in the 9th chapter verses 24 to 27.

Profile of the Prince & Kingdom

  •  Dan 7:7-8  “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. 8 I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.
  • Dan 7:11“I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn was speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame.
  • Dan 7:21“I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them,

  • Dan 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
  • Dan 7:24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

Abomination of Desolation
  • 3Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of £sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.                                                                     2 Thes 2:3-4
  • 7It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every £tribe, tongue, and nation. 8All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
